Special Event at the Texas Heroes Museum

A special event will be held at the Texas Heroes Museum on Saturday, September 19^th.  To celebrate Texas Heroes Day, our guest speaker is Pat Lyons, a Vietnam veteran who was a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP, pronounced “lurp”).  LRRPs were well armed patrols who gathered intelligence information deep in enemy territory.  Pat will speak upstairs in the Sheriff’s bedroom at 1:00 PM and again at 3:00 PM.

This special event is open to the general public.  The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays, and as always, the museum is free to visit.  To attend special events, there is a fee of $5 per person or $4 for seniors, students, and veterans.  Members of the Texas Heroes Museum attend special events such as this for free.  If you want to attend this special program, please RSVP by sending an email to texasheroesmuseum@gmail.com.  We will save seats for you at the show time you specify.  Please RSVP early.  Seating is limited.

The 2026 Texas Heroes Day will be special to the museum.  This day will mark the 10th anniversary of the day that Judge Ed Janecka officiated the dedication of the Fayette County Old Jail as the Texas Heroes Museum.
